Smart Phones in Turkey

Hey folks... I was in Istanbul last week, and I saw lots of Blackberries in use... maybe other smart phones.

What's coverage like these days, especially around and about Ankara? Do you have any preferences? I'm thinking of making the leap when I get there...

I'm also curious to learn about unlocking. This has become a real pain in the butt... a great example of a situation the market won't address. I own now, what? Five cell phones, usually because when I switch countries the last service provider won't provide me the unlock code... does anybody know how Turkcell is doing it? Should I wait to buy the phone from Turkcell, or should I just get an unlocked version here and register it on arrival?
