Places to stay on the Black Sea, next to Bosphorus entrance

I have a friend, working with ports in France, who's coming for a visit in September, and he would really like to spend some time in a place on the Black Sea, where he could watch the big boats and tankers getting their way in the Bosphorus. He would enjoy very much staying overnight there.

I know there's Riva or Kilyos where he could easily find somewhere to stay, but what about places closer to the Bosphorus itself ? Rumeli Feneri ? Anadolu Feneri ?

Would you have some specific little hotels to recommend in that area ?
