This exhibit shows how painters, sculptors, puppeteers and others from ancient times to today have used the interplay of light and shadow to tell stories, either in still form or in motion.

I hadn't realized there was such a direct connection between Karagöz and Kara Walker, but only because I hadn't seen the latter's recent video work.
