Having a sort of day off today, cant wait to go to work in the morning, it has been nothing but non stop phone calls and emails.
So what has it been like opening a business in Ankara?
Three times this week I wish I had been back in Boddy, but I cant run away, have put all I got into this plus a whole bundle of blood sweat and tears, so I must make it work.
So here is the run thru of the week.
Cok happy with the opening had fun was very tired and went out afterwards with a jouralist from US who was doing an video interview with me. Slept like a baby that night.
Went to work on the monday morning with a hangover from hell, but hey had to start somewhere, had a couple of customers for coffees. No customers for the Deli.
Tuesday couple more customers for ice creams and drinks couple of punters for the deli, big improvement on previous day.
Wednesday very quiet day so I made friends with the local ant population and killed them, ok not very diplomatic but ants and delis do not go together.
Thursday had a crowd in the deli and a couple of tables with customers, even smiled for the first time that week. The emmental cheese is a wonder, customers are coming back for it.
Friday did our first weekly fish n chips omg sold out had to turn people away and did a few kurus in the deli, sat down at the end of the night with my partner Peri and worked out we had made a small profit. however
This faded fast on Saturday as a table for 10 cancelled for our eat all you want BBQ leaving us with zero punters for our first saturday, still had a few customers in the deli.
Only one table on sunday for our carvery, but I am determined to double it this week.
Bacon back in this week so let have a few orders from you bulls, please
