...... a big fish that is. Imagine our surprise when we spotted this guy outside our local fish shop Saturday morning. Thought we were seeing things - OK we had a few rakı Friday night but not thaaaaaaat many.
Even made the Ankara section of Sunday's Hürriyet. The paper stated it as being a boz camgöz from the Aegean. I googled it and came up with Hexanchus griseus or bluntnose sixgill shark, a deepwater species not known to attack humans. They're not exactly known to be all that edible either. Wonder if the fish guy knows that ?
This shop does have nice OTHER fish though, and quite a variety if you hit it early in the day. He's on Güvenlik caddesi in Aşagı Ayrancı / Ankara. Look for him on the left-hand side near the beginning of the street (one-way).
